Astrid Schreurs
Graduated in architecture, Astrid Schreurs practiced for two years before joining the AAP research unit at the University of Liège as a research assistant (first at the DIVA laboratory, then at the ACTE laboratory). Working alongside Professors Philippe Sosnowska, Pierre Hallot, and Sophie Trachte, she developed expertise in research on built heritage, both in the field and in archives, as well as knowledge and autonomy in the use of digitization tools applied to architecture. As a FRESH doctoral fellow of the Belgian National Research Fund (FNRS) since January 2025, she is working on her dissertation under the supervision of Professors Philippe Sosnowska and Claudine Houbart at ULiège, and Prof. Inge Bertels at UAntwerpen. Her doctoral research focuses on the “Trasenster” scientific institutes built in Liège in the late 19th century according to the plans of Lambert Noppius, analyzing the design, construction, and reception of these monumental university buildings within their urban, scientific, and cultural contexts.
