Fiona Duquesne
Fiona Duquesne holds a master’s degree in art history and archaeology with a specialization in advanced studies. She is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Contemporary Art History (SHAÉC) at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (ULiège) and is affiliated with the Art, Archaeology, and Heritage Research Unit (AAP). Her dissertation, which she is writing under the supervision of Julie Bawin, is being conducted in parallel with a project co-directed by Élise Franssen (F.R.S-FNRS/Transitions) and Pierre Hallot (Faculty of Architecture/AAP), on which she has been working since January 2026. This project aims to virtually reconstruct medieval buildings in the city of Gaza that have since been destroyed. Her training as an art historian enables her to conduct heuristic research into visual documentation related to this lost heritage, as well as to geolocate these sources. Using various databases and reference works, as well as tools such as the Thesaurus of Islamic Epigraphy, her research aims to facilitate the future development of a serious game based on the visual documentation she has collected.
