Stéphane Dawans teaches philosophy and aesthetics of architecture at the Faculty of Architecture in Liège. As a founding member of the DIVA laboratory, he participates in the work of interpretation and valorisation of architecture and heritage by crossing theories of architecture, contemporary philosophy and theories of art or literature. Thus he is part of the approach of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Applied Poetics of which he has been a member since 2003. In close collaboration with Céline Bodart and the Groupe d'études et de recherches Philosophie, Architecture, Urbain (GERPHAU, ENSA Paris La Villette) he gives a specialized master's seminar where he addresses the question of the possible dialogue between architecture and philosophy and tries not only to see how this dialogue can take place, but also to see what forms of research in architecture it can give rise to.

Research Topics : Philosophy/aesthetics/ poetics applied to theories of architecture or built heritage.
