Maxime Coq is an architect who graduated from the University of Liège in 2018. He collaborated with Binario architects, and participated mainly in projects of architectural interventions on the built or even protected heritage. In 2020, he started a doctoral research at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Liège under the direction of Prof. Claudine Houbart. At the crossroads between architectural analysis, rhetoric and semiology, his research work questions the semantics of contemporary intervention on post-modernist architecture, when the adaptive reuse of a building, be it or not recognised as heritage, is made necessary. Affiliated to the CoToCoCo project, his research attempts to test design methods based on the renewed transposition of conceptual tools from outside of the field of architecture, but which have supported the creation of post-modernist architecture — such as intertextuality and hypertextuality in literature —, through the elaboration of fictional scenarios of intervention on a corpus of cases representative of post-modernism.

Research interests: Post-modern built heritage conservation - Adaptive reuse of the built heritage / Semantics of contemporary interventions - History and theory of post-modern architecture
