QUALIGEO
The QUALIGEO project, carried out in collaboration with the Geomatics unit, is based on the Decree of 22 December 2010 relating to the Walloon geographical information infrastructure (InfraSIG), which formalises the implementation of a Walloon georeference system. The Geomatics Operational Plan for Wallonia (POGW) 2017-2019 approved by the Walloon Government on 16 February 2017 sets out Wallonia's commitments and intentions in geomatics in 22 actions. Action 4 of POGW aims to define the content of the Walloon georeferential and to ensure the availability of the first reference geodata with guaranteed quality, in line with the business needs of users. In close consultation with the Technical Committee (CT-georef) of the Public Service of Wallonia and the Directorate of Geometrology, this project studies the workflow of the existing quality analysis process in order to make it comply with the standards in force, to consolidate it and to improve it if necessary. The project aims not only to improve the quality control workflow but also to propose adaptations of the acquisition process for geodata that do not comply with international rules and standards. The results and related processes are organized in three phases. The first phase involves the analysis and selection of criteria and measurement methods necessary for the quality control methodology described in the second phase. These two phases concern three prospective geodata of the Georeferential: Buildings, Road axes and Address points. At the end of the second phase, recommendations are put forward on the basis of operationality tests. The third phase deals with three other data: administrative boundaries, orthophotographs and the Digital Surface Model. It focuses on the validation of the expected product. The project was successfully completed in February 2020."
