E-thesaurus

The e.thesaurus project on the history of art and techniques aims to study the northern goldsmith's art of the 12th-13th centuries, with a major focus on the modelling (3D) and augmented reality restitution of objects, two essential contributions to a better understanding of assembly techniques and, associated with physico-chemical analyses, of the manufacturing techniques of objects and their materials. The information collected will be added to a database, which can be consulted online, where informative and analytical data will be associated with the 3D models of the elements studied. In addition, the project will make these works better known to the general public through virtual exhibitions with commentary on the historical, artistic and technical aspects of creation. The e.thesaurus project is part of the research structure MAuVE (MédiAtions VisuElles): culture numérique et création, which will provide the bulk of the funding. MAuVE, supported by the Universities of Lille, Artois and Littoral, focuses on the relationship between digital technology, cultural mediation and access to knowledge, and aims to support projects developing in a balanced way a scientific activity of the highest level producing a societal impact.
