Muriel Verbeeck is a historian (ULiège, 1985), holder of a complementary master's degree in information and communication science (ULB 1988) and Doctor in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Liège (1990). Member of the AAP Research Unit of ULiège, she is particularly interested in the theorization and conceptualization of conservation-restoration (COTOCOCO Project, Connectheo Center), as well as in the relations between conservation and minorities in Western urban areas (CHIC Project) . She is a regular contributor to international conferences and a reviewer for Studies in Conservation. She is professor at the Conservation-Restoration Department of ESA Saint-Luc de Liège and at the Institut National du Patrimoine in Paris. Muriel Verbeeck is founder and editor of the international journal CeROArt.
Research Interests - History and theory of Conservation, conceptualization and conceptual appropriation in conservation, conservation of contemporary art, conservation and diversity, endogenous conservation as expression of cultural rights.
