Stéphanie Wey is an architect (Institut supérieur Lambert Lombard, Liège, 2010), specialising in heritage conservation and restoration (ULiège, 2014). Since 2016, she has been attached as an architect and conservator for the federal services at the Régie des Bâtiments in Brussels and in charge of the restoration of the Walloon federal heritage. In April 2019, she has begun a doctorate in Building Art and Urban Planning under the supervision of Claudine Houbart and Mathieu Piavaux (UNamur). Her thesis, entitled “Restoring Restorations: the architect conservator facing his predecessors” is a research-project focused on the old Palais des Princes-Évêques. The objective of the research is to identify the impact of the 19th century restorations on the current restoration process and their integration into contemporary thinking on the building’s future. Stéphanie Wey is a member of the UR interfacultaire Art, Archéologie, Patrimoine and the DIVA research group (Documentation, Interpretation, Valorisation de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine).

Research Interests - Conservation and restoration of the 19th century architectural heritage; Methodology for integrating past restorations into current restorations processes.
