Baptiste Drugmand holds a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Liège (2021). His master’s thesis provided an opportunity to combine his academic background with his passion for railroads through research focused on the evolution of railroad shelters in Belgium from 1835 to the present. This work, situated at the intersection of the history of construction and the history of architecture, sparked an interest in a type of structure that is often overlooked yet embodies the latest construction innovations of the 19th century. Building on this experience, Baptiste is currently continuing this research as part of a doctoral project. He examines railway shelters from technical and structural perspectives over time, while placing them within the broader context of the construction industry.
